Message to Maverick Community
Statement About Recent Targeting of LGBTQIA+ Students in San Dieguito District Community
LCC ASB recognizes the recent discriminatory and hateful comments targeting transgender and LGBTQIA+ individuals from members of the district community. We firmly denounce this behavior and behavior that detrimentally affects student well-being and expression.
We are committed to creating a more inclusive and nurturing student body that provides support to every single Maverick. LCC ASB is currently collaborating with the Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA) to best provide assistance to them, as well as parallel district student clubs & organizations. We are dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and will continue to strive to make LCC a better, more welcoming school community.
We strongly encourage students to seek out emotional support, if needed, from counselors and PALs.
In solidarity,
The Executive Board
